On November 14th,members of the EU- FEAD (Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived) stakeholder network visited the Paris Ile-de-France food bank (BAPIF) to share knowledge on how large quantities of FEAD products are managed, stored and distributed to front-line partner charities and their end beneficiaries by the food bank.
Visitors were shown around the warehouse by the president of BAPIF accompanied by representatives of The French Federation of food banks and FEBA. FEBA used the occasion to inform of the leading role it played in favor of prolonging the FEAD program until 2020. FEBA also reminded of how crucial it is to complement regular FEAD food deliveries such as dried and canned goods with rescued surpluses such as fruits and vegetables. The combination of supplies enables a more healthy and varied diet for each receiving beneficiary.
