FEBA is in town now!


Following the decision of an Extraordinary General Assembly and after 32 years of being based on the outskirts of Paris, the Board of Directors decided to transfer FEBA offices to Brussels from April 2018. 

What is the reason of moving to Brussels?

As an European non-profit umbrella organization representing 24 members and 4 projects in European countries, our role is to ensure a constant dialogue with European institutions and other stakeholders. Being based in Brussels, FEBA will gain in visibility with the different stakeholders and be more engaged with other NGOs dealing with food aid, social inclusion and poverty, thus strengthening and developing our network. 

Moving to Brussels will not change our main mission: we will continue to supporting our members with the aim of increasing the recovery and redistribution of surplus food for social purposes.

Besides our other activities, it clearly demonstrates our commitment to all persons residing in Europe and the desire to professionally support the growth and development of our members, through the contacts with businesses, civil society organizations and the European institutions” said Jacques Vandenschrik, President of the European Food Banks Federation. “In line with the objectives of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the priorities of the European Union, we believe that our actions can significantly contribute to current and future challenges, such as the prevention of food waste through the recovery and safe redistribution of surplus food and the help provided to persons in food poverty situations".
