The 12th FEAD Network meeting was held on 4-5 October in Malta.
Focusing on ‘The provision of accompanying measures alongside food distribution’, the meeting mainly explored the practical implementation of different types of FEAD accompanying measures and exchanging best practices. The two-day meeting included presentations by national Maltese authorities and the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, project visits to FEAD funded initiatives and panel discussions by representatives of partner organizations.
The second day, the meeting continued with round table discussions about the implementation of accompanying measures alongside food distribution and concrete examples from different countries as Poland. For instance, the Polish Federation of Food Banks organizes culinary workshops, budgetary support and dietary workshops as useful first step activation measures to involve charitable organizations and the final beneficiaries.
The next 13th FEAD Network event will be taking place on 6-7 November in Brussels and the topic will focus on homelessness.
